Over the years

I have written many stories that have been published by web sites and magazines worldwide. Here are some grouped by their names. Most are just about travel specifically; some include motorcycle touring, and others are about related subjects:

Travel Awaits

This is my newest relationship and covers “The Five Places in Greece You Must Visit” The site started in 2018 and focuses on the 50+ market, which is huge since they get 3.3 million unique monthly visitors.

Matador Network

This travel site has been around since 2006 and gets over 2 million unique visitors monthly. I shared our 88-day bike trip in two separate pieces.

GoNomad

47 Days through Turkey. This travel site gets over 130,000 monthly hits and has been around since 2000. This is another new relationship and this is in process.

Enjoy!

Perceptive Travel was founded in 2006 and focuses on “personal stories” that involve travel, and that have many different meanings. They only publish three stories each month and since 2020 I have been published three different times, each with a different spin.

Beating a Hasty Retreat from the USA in our Private 737!

This amazing story was about how Kathleen and I had a Delta 737 jet all to ourselves as we traveled from Ohio to Cancun at the beginning of COVID:

Taking an INSIDE trip with Ayahuasca…

While in Mexico I explored an “internal trip” called Ayahuasca, and this shares that journey of discovery.

An American Jew’s (My) Trip to Israel

As an “American Jew in Israel,” I was curious about how I would feel going to the Homeland. Would I feel a connection?

Croatia Media

Croatia was one of our first long term visits and we loved it. I was able to get some stories published by media outlets there starting in 2019.

Our consultation is always in sync with your strategy

This is an overview from the standpoint of a Digital Nomad of spending two months in Croatia:

Here’s some random pieces about the city of Dubrovnik as well as the Coffee Culture of Croatia:

There are more, so if you are interested in Croatia let me know. Probably still my #1 fave country.

Newport Beach Independent newspaper

From 2013 until we left in 2019, I wrote for the Newport Beach Independent newspaper, and my editor and friend, Chris Trela, has been kind enough to carry some of our experiences for the HomeTown Crowd.

Starting here
This is a cool story about Ecuador and how it totally shocked me.
Our trip to the Middle East was a whirlwind, but now I can show you how to do it quickly and effectively!
Manopause Magazine

I started writing for this online magazine when they launched in 2020 and have written more than a dozen articles since then. The magazine, with over 100K followers, focuses on the “older male” market, and even though they don’t have an official travel department, most of what I have written is about travel.

Here’s one on Albania and why you should visit if you are looking for a “long term” place to stay
And this one highlights the best ruins I have visited and encourages you to visit
Sometimes trying to “control things” while traveling is an exercise in futility, and here are some of the examples of things that went wrong on our journey
Podcast Interviews

Once upon a time I had a radio show from 2002 till 2008 and loved the format! Put a microphone in front of me and I’m a happy guy, and quite comfortable. Since we started our travels I have been interviewed dozens of times by different travel and media people, but I’m not including all those podcasts since it would be a lot, but here’s some recent ones that are fun.

Nomads Unveiled with Rax

Rax Suen is a Singaporean Millennial, and we hit it off like old friends, and even with 30 years between us, we still had a lot in common.

Digital Nomad World with Becky

Becky Gillespie has become a friend even though we’ve never met. I interviewed her for my book, “Life on the Road,” and she has interviewed me a few time, too.

World Travel Panel Discussion

In 2022 I shared my book, “COVIDstories” with Lisa Smith and Nancy, and they updated me on how COVID affected them as well.

My Published Works

My most significant writings were about our travels since I started my Travel Younger blog the day we left Los Angeles on February 17, 2019

and later turned that into two volumes called, “Traveling the World Six Weeks at a Time.” Those books were recently stripped down, cleaned up, and re-released in my newest book called, “Nomadic Life for All Ages.”

The writings were brought up to our lives until 2023, along with revising anything that changed in the world and the world of travel. I also included recaps I did with several fellow nomads that I interviewed over the years when I set out to write, “Life on the Road: HOW they do it, WHY they do it.” That book, started in 2019, was put on hold during COVID, so these are the first time their stories have been shared.

These Are No Longer Available.

COVIDstories

Big Blend Radio: About my “positive outcome” COVIDStories book, and how the pandemic actually helped ME with writing fiction…

The COVID pandemic devasted the world and changed the face of travel. Since we had been on the road for over a year at that time, I got a bad case of “COVID boredom,” and Kat and I had many discussions about the “why” of the pandemic, and “what it all meant.” It was all speculative, of course, but my imagination was triggered, and for the first time I started writing fiction.

One book was about “Mother Nature,” and how COVID may have been a cruel joke, and another book came from a dream, a literal dream, about the Wizard of Oz and his baseball team, called The Marvels, and that was my first novella: The World Series of Oz, which is a fun read for baseball lovers of all ages. A chance meeting in Las Vegas with one of the top Elvis Presley impersonators, Harry Shahoian, turned into a joint effort to write his biography, called Follow That Dream, and later I wrote a three-part short story about “Alien Gifts,” which involved giving our teenage hero the gifts of invisibility, flight, and super speed, as three different year’s birthday presents.

To wrap it all up, as COVID was winding down, and I recognized that I had benefited in some weird, ironic way, I searched out OTHERS who had learned valuable lessons during COVID, and 19 of us collaborated on COVIDstories, which profiled some of the “good news” from the disease. Let’s just say it’s been a fun ride! You can view my other books here.
